“Even a fake district needs real leadership.”

Why don’t I ever think up stunts like this?

Republican activist and free market think-tanker Grant Bosse formally declared his candidacy today in New Hampshire’s 00th Congressional District after news that the Obama administration has attributed a majority of the state’s stimulus jobs to that non-existent district.

New Hampshire has only two congressional districts, neither of which are numbered “00.”

“Even a fake district needs real leadership,” said Bosse while appearing on WGIR’s Charlie Sherman show on Friday morning.

“The people overseeing the stimulus actually found more fake congressional districts than there are real congressional districts. So if we run in all 440 phantom congressional seats we can take over Congress,” Bosse said as the radio host chuckled along.

I’m sure that ACORN can scrounge up more than a few voters for him.

Oh, Good Heavens

LA Acorn makes the rest of Acorn look like saints:

Lavelle Stewart, of ACORN in South Central Los Angeles, tells us she thinks we have to hook up with “someone who’s on that international sex business level,” that “14 and 15 year olds been traveling overseas for years,” that she can do independent research for us, and that she has had meetings with Porn magnate Larry Flynt.  As for laundering the sex money into my faux political campaign, Lavelle says, “there are ways, people do it all the time.  Yeah there are ways, especially out here in California.”

As I get over my outrage over the fact that people who are supposed to be doing good, I note the pure absurdity of this entire campaign.  I had never really listened to the intro before- “Hanna serves as a prostitute who wants to bring over underaged girls for a brothel, I serve as her boyfriend who wants to profit off of her earnings for his political career.” (paraphrased)

If it had been a parody, it would have sounded too outrageous to be funny.

Update: Also, not being willing to sell to someone who’s engaging in prostitution- “That’s discrimination.”  (around the 8 minute mark)

My Responses to News that Acorn Might Have Actually Told Someone

Or so says the police office for which the disgraced Acorn employee’s cousin works:

NATIONAL CITY, Calif. —  Police say a worker with the activist group ACORN who was caught on video giving advice about human smuggling to a couple posing as a pimp and a prostitute had reported the incident to authorities.

Vera was fired on Thursday.

National City police said Monday that Juan Carlos Vera contacted his cousin, a police detective, to get advice on what to with information on possible human smuggling.

Vera was secretly filmed on Aug. 18 as part of a young couple’s high-profile expose.

Police say he contacted law enforcement two days later. The detective consulted another police official who served on a federal human smuggling task force, who said he needed more details.

The ACORN employee responded several days later and explained that the information he received was not true and he had been duped.

First Response: Relief.  As amusing as it might be to see this horrible organization disgraced, I am truly distressed to see people who claim to help others, who surely believe that they live a life of helping others, acting in such an inhumane manner.

Second Response: Confusion.  Umm, why did it take him two days to report this?  What else was going on?  Why was he fired anyway?

What in the bloody hell is wrong with these people?

An ACORN official told the couple how to falsify tax forms and seek illegal benefits for 13 “very young” girls from El Salvador that they said they wanted to import as prostitutes.

Staffers for the community organizing group ACORN could face criminal charges after being caught on video encouraging a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute to commit federal tax fraud and offering to help them — for a fee — to establish a child brothel, legal experts say.

In a video made public Thursday, two visitors to an ACORN office in Baltimore told staffers they needed assistance securing housing where the woman, a 20-year-old who called herself “Kenya,” could continue to run her prostitution business.

I’m watching the video on Fox now.  The Acorn woman doesn’t even blink, she just says I don’t want to know, like it’s nothing, like I used to say when I worked in a restaurant that gave free stuff to kids under 10, and parents would try to admit that they had lied to get free food for their 11-year olds.  Just don’t tell me.

I’m not even that upset about the TENS OF MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS that are going to these sick fucks.  I haven’t even gotten there yet.

I am upset that representatives of an organization that bills itself as a network of families “working together for social justice and stronger communities” hear people say that they are smuggling 13 underage (they specifically say “14, 15” on the video) girls from a third world country to be their sex workers, and these people, these sorry excuses for human beings, say “SURE, we’ll give you a hand!”  There is something seriously, seriously wrong with these people.
