The beauty of pumpkin scones

It was “bring some food day” at the courthouse today, and I thought that it would be fun to bring something seasonal and just a little bit (but not too) unique.

These pumpkin scones proved to be just perfect: easy, ingredients easily on-hand, and darn tasty.   Of course, I changed it up a little bit.  I added a small handful of chopped walnuts, which I toasted in a dry pan first.  Instead of using the glaze that it called for, I melted some butter (about a TBS) and whisked in some powdered sugar and milk until it looked good, then added a touch of maple flavoring and maple syrup.  Delicious!
